Getting active in the workplace does the job!

Independent research has further confirmed that getting active with Workplace Challenge has a range of benefits not only to you as individuals, but to your colleagues and to your wider organisation!

Following an independent evaluation by Loughborough University that has been published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, the science proves that encouraging employees to get active can have the following effects:

  • Reduces sickness absence – Sickness absence was reduced by 0.6 days (recorded after 6 months).
  • Increases physical activity – 73% increase in inactive employees taking part in sport after three months and 84% of inactive employees were reaching the government recommended 150 minutes exercise a week (recorded after 6 months)
  • Improves health – 37% of employees reported that they felt healthier and 35% said they felt fitter!
  • Boosts team morale and communication - Employees reported that taking part in Workplace Challenge boosted the team morale across their organisations and also improved communication, breaking down departmental barriers!
